We've had another fabulous week in Room 412! Here are some pictures of our kiddos hard at work and having fun. Continue to read nightly and practice sight words.
This week has been great. We have been working hard on establishing class routines and procedures. The students have been very excited about building their "stamina" during our Daily 5 center time. Our goal is to remain engaged and continue our stamina for 20 minutes - we're almost there! Check out these pictures of our wonderful students working on "Read to Self" and "Read to Someone."
We are looking forward to Open House on Thursday (August 11th) from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. We know that evenings can be hectic, so if you are not able to attend, please review our Open House presentation below. If you are having difficulty viewing the PowerPoint, please clink on the link. It is full of important information about our school and first grade! All handouts from the evening will be sent home on Friday with your child. Thank you so much for your continued support!

We have had a great first week back to school. This week we have enjoyed reading stories about making friends, sharing with others and making good choices with our work and behavior.
Next week, we will continue to review our classroom rules and routines. This is what else we will be doing:
Phonics: Reviewing letter sounds and using those sounds to make words.
Math: Beginning addition
Reading/Language Arts: Making self to text and text to text connections with the stories that we read. Also, we are working on answering comprehension questions about the text.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Open House. Have a wonderful weekend with your family.
